Rate of reaction 如果考essay,或者 describe 實驗步驟,要寫清楚有一個 fair test 的 experimental design。
比較 compounds的m.p./b.p./solubility時.
你必須要列明 stronger / larger/more polar / more extensive 的keyword,否則清0.
仲有你要寫polarity of the bond cancel out to explain polar/non-polar molecule,NOT polar bond cancel out.
唔好擾錯 ionic/half equation, isomer vs stereoisomer, Kc value vs shift

Balance equation
一般都要 LCM + 整數 coefficient (Energetics 或 carbon compound equation除外)。
state symbols
一般equation唔寫state symbols唔扣分,但寫錯可能會清0。
energetics equation / enthalpy change cycle唔寫或寫錯state symbols會清0。
thermochemical equation 包括 enthalpy change + / - 符號及數值
Carbon compound synthesis reaction一定要分開寫每一個steps, 一行一行寫。
Chem. test for alkanoic acid 用 NaHCO3(aq),唔係NaHCO3(s)。
reagent/chem heat : 一定要寫清楚(s)/(aq)/(in organic solvent) / warm / acidified / wet / dry
你要注意千期唔好咁樣答 "chem test”
pH, elec. conduct., smell, litmus paper, filtration / distillation / crystallation 等 phy. method test”
計算題常見無心之失
Significant figure
唔好太早 round up,只須 final answer round up 就可以。
從題目提供 的數值做對照,大約可以估到 accept幾多個位。通常accept 2-4個位。
計數應該列明 steps
相反若註明每個計算步驟計算目的, 即使 answer 錯都可得到 method分。
一條式就出 final answer,一錯就清0。
計啱數錯單位/正負號都清0分。
你千期要咁樣答畫圖題
Plot graph 的 axis + label + unit,有分㗎,唔識 plot都畫好曬佢,分嚟㗎。
Plot graph 的 best-fit line ,唔識好蝕底,好易蝕底。
Take attention:extrapolate、intersection projection of line on axis,好易扣分。
energy profile: (y) potential energy vs. (x) reaction coordinate.
Maxwell distribution: (y) number of molecules vs. (x) kinetic energy
標準題型標準合答唔識抵死題
當解釋不同 structure 的物質的 physical properties 時,要準確寫明type of particle / attractive force,否則隨時清0.
Bromine solution colour 只可答 :orange/brown。
Addition polymer:bracket 有n,無 C = C
repeating unit = 有bracket 無 n無 C = C
monomer = bracket 無n有 C = C
仲有呢啲唔覺意就會錯的
Enthalpy 答案一定俾 +/- 號,單位係 kJmol^- 1
Equilibrium constant 的單位要實 mol^2 dm^6 ,寫M^-2會清0
寫long chain carbon compound 的 skeletal formula 數清楚carbon 數目。
所有加熱的 setup 畫咗 closed system 即清0
所有加熱的 setup 要畫 arrow + heat,唔好畫△
Distillation setup的 thermometer position is at the joint of pear-shaped flask condenser
reflux setup 要明顯畫到 the joint position of pear-shaped flask condenser
reflux setup 千期唔好畫thermometer。
condensation polymer的bracket 要放在 polymerization的bond forming 位置(i.e.斬開個 ester/amide 中間的C-N或CO single bond)
描述 detergent 的 structure,係hydrocarbon tail (唔係hydrophobic tail) and ionic head (唔係hydrophilic head)
描述 cleansing action, 要清清楚楚寫出以下兩點:(i) reduce water surface tension wetting; (ii) water attract ionic head to lift up the grease into water 。
最重要果幾條工業 equation 要清清楚楚寫出<==> 符號
green chem 的principle 通常用 comparative sense + elaborate方法作答
Percentage yield / Atom economy 分別
我哋assume atom economy 反應 100% completed,但Percentage yield 唔係,原因可能反應 NOT completed / 有side reactions.
寫IR的range,小心-OH group 有兩個不同的range,分別係alcohol的 -OH group 或者 carboxylic acid的-OH group。
比較 IR/MS spectra 都要用 comparative sense,而且有時可能要寫多於 一個characteristic peaks 的比較先有分。
MS.的peak全部都係cation,千期唔好再漏 charge
MS.的ion最好寫condensed structural formula (除非有分 cis-trans isomer/ enantiomers),千萬唔好寫 molecular formula,唔畫 structure 等於清0.
